Left/Right Arrows or A/D: Carve left and right
Board has momentum - turns are arcs, not instant snaps

How to Play wave rider

Steer left and right with arrow keys or A/D. Your board carves in arcs rather than snapping instantly, so set up turns ahead of obstacles.

Collect items scattered across the wave for score. Some items fill a trick meter that triggers bonuses when full.

Dodge obstacles - rocks, buoys, and gaps in the wave surface. Contact ends the run.

Maintain speed by riding straight lines when safe. Tight turns scrub speed, which makes later obstacles harder to dodge.

wave rider Tips & Strategies

Carve wide early, tighten late. Setting up a turn from far back gives you a smooth arc that maintains speed; last-second snaps kill momentum.

Chain pickups in lines rather than zigzagging. A clean path through a cluster scores more than frantic collecting that loses speed.

Save the trick meter for obstacle-dense sections. The slow-mo or multiplier from a full meter helps most where dodging is hardest.

Don't ride the wave edge. The lip is where gaps and rocks cluster - the middle face is safer and faster.

About wave rider

Wave Rider is a surfing-style runner where your board rides an endless wave and you steer to collect items, dodge obstacles, and maintain speed. The wave constantly propels you forward, and your job is lateral movement - carving left and right across the face of the wave to line up pickups and avoid hazards.

The feel is fluid carving. Turning isn't instant; your board has momentum and leans into arcs, so steering is about setting up lines rather than twitch dodging. Tight turns slow you; straight lines build speed, and managing that tradeoff keeps runs alive.

Pickups boost your score and some fill a trick meter that triggers brief slow-motion or score multipliers when full. Obstacles - rocks, buoys, gaps in the wave - end the run on contact, so the carving has to dodge as well as collect.

It's a chill score-chaser. The wave visuals and fluid motion make it relaxing until an obstacle cluster reminds you that composure has limits. Distance and collection count combine into the final score.
